Learning Factory - Sponsors - Kick-Off

The Project Kick-Off Meeting happens the first week of the semester and is the official start of the project. Please see Important Dates to find out when and where the next Kick-Off is being held.

During the Project Kick-off, sponsors get to display and "sell" their projects to the students who will be picking from among 50-60 such projects each semester. Every student will receive a copy of the Project Description that is provided when each project is submitted.

After the Project Kick-Off, students submit their top five project preferences to their instructor, and the instructors take this information and do their best to assign students to projects based on their preferences while also meeting the disciplinary needs of each project - as indicated by the sponsor - and the schedule availability of the students. Project teams are usually formed and announced within 1-2 days of the Project Kick-off.


Learning Factory - Sponsors - Showcase

The Design Showcase happens the last week of the semester and is the official end of the project. Please see Important Dates to find out when and where the next Project Kick-Off meeting is being held.

During the Showcase, students display their projects and are judged by a panel of industry experts, comprised of current and past sponsors as well as members of our Industrial Advisory Board. Prizes are awarded for the Best Project (1st, 2nd, and 3rd), and Best Poster (1st, 2nd, and 3rd). The event is open to the public and is usually attended by 500-600 students, faculty, sponsors, and guests.
